FoulPlay Productions

FoulPlay Productions is a lively and diverse collective whose main aim is the devising and staging of new and challenging performance, moving beyond mere promenade theatre to create immersive environments and narratives that directly engage with the audience. Founded by Jack Stigner, FoulPlay Productions began touring original theatrical productions in 2007. Based in London and Brighton, the company produce immersive dramatic spectacles for fringe festivals and performance based events.


FoulPlay consists entirely of trained and qualified performers who undertake wider activities both within and outside the company and can count among their numbers, venue managers, theatre producers, drama & theatre studies teachers, trained dancers, Arts Council funded puppeteers and subsidiary company managers, including the London Leisure Pirates events and Colossal Crumbs puppetry Co. Over the years, FoulPlay has staged numerous shows including, five star and sell out performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, SHUNT, and the Brighton Fringe, where FoulPlay Productions were listed as one of the top 10 ‘must see’ shows of 2009. The company has established a loyal following through their maintained involvement in the Brighton Fringe particularly; ensuring that each new production creates a stir amongst the public with continuous involvement with the outdoor Fringe City events. Under the guise of self promotion, FoulPlay broaden the scope of performances by bringing different facets of each production to the streets, enticing new audiences and contributing to the exciting atmosphere generated during fringe festivals. Shows are written, Produced and Directed through a predominantly collaborative rehearsal process. Principal contributors to concepts and production include Jack Stigner (Artistic Director) and Ulysses Black (Assistant Director).
